Keeping it safe Several high-profile cyberattacks on retail businesses and school authorities have made headlines in the past month and should sound a warning to all about the necessity of strong network protection – and resellers should be ready to help.
Cybersecurity has hit the headlines several times in the past month, with a variety of high-profile attacks on well-known businesses and school authorities causing chaos and extended periods of downtime for those affected. The severity of the attacks and the nature and size of those affected demonstrate that any organisation is vulnerable to an attack. While the cost of these attacks will be difficult to quantify, it is certain that the retail businesses will have lost significant sums due to them – and the reputational damage will also take a long time to repair. It also shows how imperative it is for all businesses to have effective cybersecurity measures in place. In particular, legal firms need to ensure that their cybersecurity is as watertight as possible, given the highly confidential nature of much of their work – and resellers have a vital role to play in ensuring they get the right solutions in place.
