Surveillance systems

Interest in surveillance systems has surged recently, with search volume on Stock in the Channel rising by 57% across categories such as security cameras, network surveillance servers and NVRs. This sharp uptick reflects growing consumer and commercial awareness of security needs, especially in urban areas and among small businesses seeking scalable monitoring solutions. Security cameras remain the most searched item, driven by advancements in AI features like motion detection and remote access.

While demand grows, the average price across all surveillance products currently stands at £457.17, with a modest 2% year- on-year price increase observed. This was coupled with a slow decrease of stock availability over March, and thus distribution adapted their pricing accordingly. Alongside core products, support systems such as video decoders,

surveillance monitors, and video servers/ encoders are seeing increased adoption as users expand their setups into fully integrated surveillance ecosystems. Video surveillance kits offer plug-and- play options for entry-level buyers, while professionals continue to invest in modular setups with enhanced analytics and storage capabilities. n
