SNOM M500 SERIES
How DECT is powering modern workplaces
Digital enhanced cordless telecommunications solutions are being increasingly demanded by businesses in a range of sectors. Snom has responded to this by extending its DECT portfolio with the M500 series.
Over the past five years, there has been a strong desire among businesses to switch to digital enhanced cordless telecommunications (DECT) based products. Businesses such as shops and restaurants in particular can benefit from the greater mobility and flexibility that DECT offers them and their workforce. DECT’s main advantage is that it uses a dedicated frequency, so cannot be disturbed by Wi-Fi or Bluetooth. It has been designed for voice communication, meaning call quality is improved and significantly more consistent. It also provides greater coverage compared to Wi-Fi or GSM technologies. Additionally, DECT’s advanced security features help to protect businesses from threats such as phone tapping and hacking. Its encryption and authentication protocols ensure sensitive information shared between team members or with customers remains confidential.
M500 series The M500 series is Snom’s extension to its existing DECT portfolio. With state-of-the-art hardware, it incorporates a dual-cell base station, two cordless handsets (M55 and M56) and a desk phone (M58). These devices are equipped with an arsenal of advanced features that are ideal for businesses across a range of industries including hospitality, retail and logistics. The base station can be paired with up to eight phones and accept the same number of calls simultaneously. It offers range inside (50 metres) and outside (300 metres) of buildings with no dead zones or dropouts on calls. For businesses that may be thinking about scaling their communications infrastructure, two base stations can be combined to one DECT cell. This allows up to 16 IP phones to be registered and just as many parallel calls made. The M55 and M56 handsets boast user- friendly interfaces that make it easy for staff members to use. Both feature backlit keys, for example, which are particularly useful in low-light conditions. Additionally, the handsets are lightweight and portable, featuring a belt clip to make it easy for staff members to carry when on the go. Finally, the M500 series is built to last. Devices are designed to withstand the rigors of daily use in a fast-paced environment, with high-quality materials delivering reliable performance. The M55 and M56 cordless handsets and the M58 DECT desk phone offer an antibacterial finish. If a business is looking for a seamless communication solution, DECT may be the answer. With its increased connectivity, strong security protocols and functionality across multiple environments, what’s not to like?
