Tollring drives expansion with new appointment

Tollring has appointed Karen Winter as head of partnerships and growth to develop and deliver the company’s ambitious expansion plans. Karen is expanding the team to deliver her strategy as well as seeking new global service providers and network operator partners in the Mitel, Cisco and Microsoft space. She has more than 30 years of experience in the software and telecoms sector having worked with Microsoft, SAP, Sage, Morgan Stanley, P&O Events, Reed Elsevier, as well as SMEs and her own start-up businesses. Most recently, Karen spent three years as the interim sales and marketing director EMEA at Fonetic, a specialist in speech recognition for the investment banking sector. In this role, Karen was instrumental in the company’s growth and helped take it from a local Spanish operation to an international company. Within two years the brand was recognised as the contender to the established market leader. “We are thrilled that Karen has joined us at such a pivotal point in Tollring’s journey,” said Tony Martino, CEO at Tollring. “Karen was initially brought in to analyse our performance

and identify opportunities for growth. Having created the strategy, we now look forward to working with her to implement those plans and make it a reality. She is an inspiring and motivating individual who has already had a beneficial impact on our business, teams and overall strategy.” Karen added: “Tollring really appealed to me from the moment I engaged with them. It wasn’t just their strong management team, which embodies their values of energy, performance, teamwork and integrity, it was also the fact that they have an extremely sound business that is ripe for the next stage of growth. “I was exposed to working on strategy early in my career, an experience that greatly inspired me. I enjoy identifying areas of growth, it’s about keeping things simple and finding the small things that make a big difference. “And it’s always about the people. I will be developing the team for existing growth and retention as well as new business and recruiting new talented people. My approach to managing and directing people is to take away all the barriers for success, value them and give them the freedom and direction to do their best work.”
