Top Performing Brands in the Channel (by Total Searches) Smart Devices (Aug – Oct 2024)
Let’s confess – quite a few of us working in tech wouldn’t mind having our home offices warped into the bridge of Captain Kirk’s USS Enterprise or Tony Stark’s engineering room. We emulate this today by investing in smart devices, which transform our homes by automating tasks, enhancing security, and improving energy efficiency. From smart locks and environmental sensors to virtual assistants, these devices cover a range of functions, all adding to the feeling of living in an interconnected and futuristic environment. Made up from a diverse range of categories, such as smart locks, plugs and sensors, and our trusty virtual assistant devices, the BI team have observed that Crestron, Lenovo and Amazon have increased their stock availability in the channel over the past three months. The SHD market overall saw a 10% decrease in stock levels held though, accompanied by a 1% drop in price. Prices in the category overall have a right- skewed distribution, meaning that there is a large number of perceivably “inexpensive” products around the £55 mark, and the bulk of products moving are below the £200 price-point in Stock in the Channel’s tracked distribution.
