there is any issue in the bill, otherwise this has to be done manually. “Otherwise, they need to go to the CSP provider and go through line by line of that bill that they get from them and see what the problems are,” says Farshid. The software provides more than just an easier way to process bills, it also enables users to drill down into the data contained in them, Farshid adds. “Customers can see what subscriptions they have, for example, but also things like the add-ons that have been ordered, along with details about the products themselves.” Subscription-based products Farshid adds that the billing software on Stock in the Channe l is continually evolving and being updated and moving with trends in the sector. For instance, many businesses are now moving to subscription-based models for certain products, especially with the rise of virtual offices, or even hiring products rather than buying them, and Stock in the Channel is ideal for tracking this. Another step is asset management through the software, Farshid adds. “For instance, a reseller can be selling 100 Office365 licences to a customer, but they don’t know that those 100 licences have been assigned and who is using it, or even if are they using it or not,” he says. “Even the end customer themselves might not know if they are utilising all those licences or not. But the software can produce a report for the end user or reseller that can show how many of those licences are being used and it can be used to inform future sales and deals.”

imports bills for them from their supplier, which saves the work of three to four people, according to Farshid. “They were spending a week per month on this, but now it has been automated. “Previously, they needed to get a spreadsheet every month from their CSP providers and key it into their ERP, but this way they don’t need to do anything. The date of the month that they have specified to have their bills available, we import them to Stock in the Channel . ” Customers that use the billing software also receive monthly reports from Stock in the Channel , which provides information on the billing and what has and hasn’t been imported and if there are any problems with the bills. “On the days that they have their billing imported, they can go and run the report, which will tell them exactly what is missing in detail and include the line number in the report that they get from the CSP provider.
