Increased demand for computer chips With the expected rise in demand for machine learning by companies this year, there will be a spike in demand for processing power to feed the algorithms needed to generate insights where every minute saved could place you ahead of competition. This new demand will hopefully be met by new chip factories that are planned to be built in the USA and Taiwan soon. From a distribution standpoint, it may be particularly advantageous to create open channels for servers and processors, specifically to companies that provide analytics or data-centric services. Looking at the graph above, we can see that interest in processers, specifically Intel and AMD chips, has risen tremendously in the previous quarter. Alongside the development of novel techniques in machine learning, eventually companies that optimise the speed of their output could well take the lead in the market. Data and insights as a service Data as a Service (DaaS) is becoming important in the field of data science, as smaller companies can now benefit from big data generated or recorded

by third parties without having to create their own infrastructure to maintain the data ecosystem. Increasingly, the need for analytics to supplement business decisions is giving players in the market an edge on competition, leading to companies appointing data scientists to steward their data journeys. With the advancement of predictive analytics, such as Meta’s Prophet, and state-of-the-art machine learning models like GPT-4 expected to release later in the year, Insight as a Service (IaaS) could start gaining popularity in 2023 as companies with statistical capabilities offer their BI engines in the cloud. DaaS and IaaS could be a powerful combination for the channel, as the market edge depends on the most efficient business decisions powered by data and analytics. At Stock in the Channel , for example, we record data on more than eight million products and generate insights across several different categories in the IT channel. If you are interested in incorporating these services into your own workflow, the BI team is available to discuss how we can become a part of your analytics strategy.
